Tiger Woods is one of our favorite golfers in the world. We all love his game, technique, and consistency. People have seen his fun side, his angry side, and a side where he went through a lot after his split up from his ex-wife in 2010. We have seen it all. But did you know that the former No.1 had a cute nickname?
Are you wondering who gave him a nickname? It was none other than her ex-girlfriend and Alpine skiing legend, Lindsey Vonn. Did Woods like his new name, or did he have his own opinion about it? Let’s find out.
Tiger Woods and Olympic skier, Lindsey Vonn were known as the power couple from the sports industry. They both have made their country proud on numerous occasions. Woods is the G.O.A.T., and Vonn is the first American woman to win a gold medal in skiing. She also holds eight world cup titles. They met in 2012, and started dating soon after, according to reports. In the beginning, Vonn denied their relationship, but later the couple went public in 2013.
They were an adorable couple, and they had fun together. Even gave each other fun nicknames. For instance the nickname Vonn gave to Woods. In 2013, Vonn labeled Woods as a ‘Dork.’ Everyone waited for Woods to react to this.
After his ex-gf, Vonn, called him a dork, he accepted her comment. And agreed to it. They were together for a year then. He said that he was a nerd, which is probably why he got taken into Stanford. Also, he revealed his nickname during his Stanford days.
He said that his teammates used to call him ‘Urkel.’ He said that he loved his nerdy side and was proud of it. Of course, being part of Stanford was something to be proud about. He said, “My teammates used to call me ‘Urkel’ back in college,” he said. “I do have that little nerdy side of me. That’s probably why I got into Stanford.”
